For the third year in a row, the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Clemson Tigers. With this win, Carolina’s record is 9-3. There have been only two other times when the Gamecocks have had more than nine wins in a season. In 1984, they were 10-2 and in 2001, they were 9-3. During the game, Alshon Jeffery played his seventh game that he received more than 100 yards, and QB Stephen Garcia threw for two touchdowns.

In the first quarter, Clemson scored its only points. This was the first time in the last seven games that an opponent has scored two touchdowns on Clemson. The Tiger’s QB, Kyle Parker, was only seven of 17 passes for only 117-yards. Backup QB, Tajh Boyd, replaced Parker for the second time in two home games, but not until the third quarter.

On the Gamecocks’ side, Garcia was 14 of 30 passes for 227-yards. Jeffery had five catches for a total of 141-yards. In the first quarter the Gamecocks were trailing 7-3, but Brian Maddox took possession of the ball after it got away from Clemson punter Dawson Zimmerman. On the next play, Garcia threw to fullback Patrick DiMarco for a touchdown to put Carolina in the lead, where they stayed for the rest of the night.

With this win, the Gamecocks will play Auburn this Saturday for the SEC Championship title. They will play at the Georgia Dome. Last year, if Clemson had won the rivalry game, they would have had a chance for the ACC Championship, but fell short to Carolina, 34-17. Carolina fans are happy with the win over Clemson, but want the SEC title as well.

  1. USC es un buen equipo con buenos jugadores. Clemson tenido una mala temporada de este año.
