The 2011 Grammy nomination list was announced on December 1, 2010. Since then celebrities and bloggers alike have all been a buzz. Grammy veterans like Eminem have been getting their acceptance speeches ready, while first time nominees like Justin Bieber, are still tweeting about the shock of being nominated. This award show is the highest honor for any musician from any genre. A nomination is considered a great accomplishment, while winning the award is probably one of the highest achievements in a musician’s career.

The 53rd Grammy Awards features over ten categories for an artist to obtain an award. Long time Grammy attendee, Eminem, has the highest amount of nods this year, with ten. Following the rapper is Bruno Mars with seven. Tailing behind those leading men are Jay Z , Lady Gaga and Lady Antebellum, all with an impressive six nominations. Every year many online sites make predictions on who’s going to win what, with this year being no different.  This time the most favorable predictions are towards Eminem dominating the Grammy’s by winning most, if not all, his awards. If he does not rack them up, then Jay Z sure will. As for categories like Best New Artist or Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, well those are toss ups. Other popular artists that may be seen accepting an award include: Ke$ha, Michael Buble,  Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Paramore, Katy Perry, Snoop Dog, John Mayer, and many more.

If you are not into the whole award ceremony thing, then tune in early and watch the red carpet coverage. Stations like E! and CBS are having pre-shows on an hour or two before the actual show to take a look at what all the celebrities are wearing. Not into fashion? Well, this year’s Grammy’s is said to have some killer performances. Although the performance list hasn’t been reported on, if you check out some of the entertainment sites within the next few months, there will more than likely be a sneak preview of those performances.

All in all, it look’s like the 2011 Grammy Awards are going to be a promising one. So, be sure to turn your T.V. onto CBS at 8 p.m., Sunday, February 13  to catch the big show.
