On September 3, after partaking in a friend’s birthday celebration, Poueu visited the rooftop of another friend’s apartment when the door locked behind him. It was then that Poueu attempted to use the fire escape ladder to direct himself to the fourth floor in which case lead to a major slip. It was reported that the San Francisco Fire Department arrived within minutes. The 24 year old suffered trauma to the right side of the head and is now embarking on the recovery process.

“He still has a long road ahead and is already a true testament to the power of prayer. Our faith remains that God will heal him completely according to His will. We are thankful for the miracles we have already witnessed in his recovery and are thankful for the dedicated medical personnel attending to him,” his family mentions.

Poueu was a former security guard turned fitness trainer at the Biggest Loser Fitness Ridge Resort in Malibu, California. He began the show as a 372 pound young man and ended with his intended goal of 238 pounds. Anderson, 31, accepted Poueu’s proposal last October with intentions to wed in spring 2012. Anderson serves as the senior account executive of CBS radio, and asks for continued prayer and understanding through this difficult time.

Poueu has endured a full six weeks of rehabilitation, and is appreciative of all prayers, thoughts and support. “He is undergoing an intense rehabilitation schedule. His recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. He has been blessed with a wonderful medical team,” says Poueu’s fiancée. “Witnessing his daily progress is the most hopeful and inspirational experience. Tough days are still ahead—but, like always, he is working hard toward a full recovery,” she closes. All letters of encouragement can be sent to the Poueu family at P.O. Box 214, Cotati, CA 94931.
