In today’s world you can reach for any dream you want. There are so many avenues people can go down in search of a career. You don’t have to be “someone” to make it big; you can be an average student with a big dream. You just have to have the passion for whatever it is and the perseverance to make it a reality.
A lot of times, the reason a person defers from his/her dream is because there is so much negativity against it from other people. Don’t worry about what other people think your dream should be or how trivial other people think your dream is. Make your dream come true because it’s what you love to do. Nobody wants to be another average person working that 9 to 5 day job in a stuffy office cubicle who hates their job. The only reason they do it because it makes sufficient enough funds to raise a well-off family. So many people in this world’s society are so unhappy with their lives and feel unfulfilled. The reason many people feel this way is because they settled for less than they are worth; they gave up on their dream because they didn’t have the drive to keep going. Many people think that a 9 to 5 day job is the best they are going to be able to do and do not strive for the best of the best.
Dreams are so important in today’s day and time. You can’t just give up on all you have ever wanted. People say “life’s what you make it” and it may seem a little cliché to you, but there is almost nothing more true than that statement. Nobody else can decide how your life will be for you; only you can make the choice of how you want your story to be told one day. Don’t let anyone bring you down this year, or in future years to come. Make your New Year’s Resolution for this year to be to work harder towards making that dream of yours come true. No matter how crazy or “unrealistic” your dream may be, you can do whatever you set your mind and heart out to do. You can’t settle for anything less than everything. You are worth whatever you make yourself out to be. Don’t give up on that dream because settling cannot be the American way of life anymore. Let this generation change the country and eventually the world by reaching for the stars and not stopping until you have achieved something great.
