Fort Mill High School, along with the rest of our school district, has struggled over the past few years with the budget cuts that have been made. It’s unfortunate to see any school district go through this, especially for one like ours that provides some of the best education in the state. There have been many fundraisers and donations trying to help out the Fort Mill School District, and there is no such thing as too much fundraising. One of the most generous fundraisers yet is coming to our town very soon.

The foundation for Fort Mill Schools and The Playroom Academy of Music are sponsoring an outdoors event for our community. The fundraising event will take place on October 23 on the Nation Ford High School football field. Many businesses in our area have sponsored the event to help make sure that everyone has a blast. One thing that will truly be making this an exciting night is the live entertainment. Charity Case, a local band that works out of Charlotte, will be making their way to the stage at 8:00 pm. The band has opened for many of popular performers, including Bon Jovi, Train and L.L Cool J. Charity Case unlike many other musical groups, donates all of their proceeds to charity, hence the name. Fortunately for our school district and the Playroom Academy of Music, all of the proceeds will come to us.

The musical event will be one that you won’t want to miss. The concert starts at 6:00 p.m. with a few opening performers who have not yet been named but are sure to get the crowd going wild. There will be a number of other vendors there to keep everyone entertained and keep the audience from getting hungry. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at the school district website, at our local Game Time Bar and Grill and even the Playroom Academy of Music in Baxter. Tickets purchased before the event will be just $10, so make sure to buy them in advance. If you are not able to do so, you can pay at the entrance for just an additional $ 3.

This is an excellent opportunity to help support our schools. Make sure to get your friends and family out on the 23rd of October to have some fun for a good cause.
