Have you ever taken one look at someone and thought to yourself “wow, that girl is beautiful!”? I know that I have and I have also been jealous of the way some other girls look. Sometimes I even wonder why I can not look the way girls in magazines look. I will look at the models and start to get down about why they are so perfect and flawless and how I am so not. I know that I am not the only girl who feels this way, because some girls will literally starve themselves, try every skincare product, dye their hair and completely change their look to become what society considers to be “beautiful”. What really is beautiful though? Is it the clothes? Or maybe the makeup? Or is it maybe something more than any of that?

Being beautiful is something that you should not have to base off of looks. Of course if you are appealing to the eye, then it will help with what should be considered beautiful, but that should not be all there is. People put so much focus on just the outside appearance as what beauty is, but being beautiful in reality is so much more than what is on the outside. Being beautiful is having a kind heart and putting others before yourself. It is when you take the time out of your day to look at someone you barely know and give them a compliment. Being the nicest person you can possibly be and lifting others spirits when they are down is a big part of being beautiful. Being comfortable in your own skin and realizing that you don’t have to be perfect in order to be beautiful is beauty in itself.

Supermodels, singers, actresses and other famous women and girls are all very attractive on the outside, but they also have their own flaws just like you and me. They constantly feel pressured to look perfect just as much as we feel the need to as well. If people would just realize that beauty is not all about the outlook on life then the world would be a happier place. Happiness and confidence have a lot to do with feeling beautiful, and I believe they are two traits that everyone should have. You are beautiful the way you are, in your own ways. Everyone is different, embrace it, let your true self shine, because nobody can be who you are better than yourself. You are beautiful, so show it in everyway possible.
