I’ve come to realize that life is extremely fragile. There will be ups and downs, heartbreaks, and times when you just want to give up. But there are also amazing things that can happen. You can experience a first love, achieve things you never dreamed you could do, or even start a family. I feel that people are always searching for their purpose in life; always worrying if they’ll ever discover who they truly are or feel that they haven’t made the right choices and that their life could be better. All these worries and stress cause regret, and you stop believing in yourself. That is no way to live. My belief is that we all have one purpose in life, to do what makes us happy.
There is a lot of evil and hate in this world, but only focusing on this will not better you as a person. The motto that I live by is that you only live once. Don’t waste your time being angry at someone and regretting decisions you’ve made. You will never get that time back. Let the past be the past and look forward to the bright new day ahead of you and all that you can accomplish. Travel to new places, experience new cultures, and try new things. Don’t be close-minded, allowing yourself to see only what you want to see. There is a huge world out there that has a lot to offer. Be daring and do things you never thought you would.
I don’t think you should worry too much about the future and how the rest of your life will turn out. Live in the now and appreciate that you are still living and breathing. Surround yourself with those you love and who love you back. Laugh often, appreciate the beauty in the world, and be thankful for what you have because there are those less fortunate.
I’m not saying to completely ignore the flaws that life contains. There will be days when you are sad, have been betrayed, or have lost all hope. However, these are the days to realize that it’s not worth your time to be upset and push yourself back up. Remember, there isn’t much time you have on this earth, and you only live once. We are all on the pursuit of happiness, so treat everyone, including yourself, with love and respect. These are the lessons that I’ve learned in life so far, and if we allow ourselves to follow them, I think our lives should turn out just fine.
