Fort Mill High School is full of extremely talented students. There are the top notch athletes like the state champions boys’ swim team. There are the artists and performers like the dance team, who competed in nationals this year. And the successful clubs like the Future Business Leaders of America who are sending a record number of competitors to the state competition this year. Now all of this Yellow Jacket talent is coming together for one event that should prove this school is filled to the brim with talented students.

The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Club is hosting a talent show to raise money and broadcast the talent of the Fort Mill students. The show is going to take place on March 3rd, at 7 p.m. in the Fort Mill High School auditorium. All of the money from the show is going to go to the FFCLA. Gabi Chinchilla, the Vice President of the club, said that they wanted to host the show because Fort Mill used to have a talent competition every year except for last year, and it would be a great event to raise money along with giving students a chance to show their skills.

Another reason for the show taking place is student interest. Pam McIntyre, the sponsor of the FCCLA, when asked why she wanted to do the show, responded, “We had a lot of student interest. There are a lot of talented students at this school and we wanted to give them a chance to show it.” The acts will include singing, dancing, musical performance, and other interesting student talents. One of the featured acts is Soulstice Music, a local band made up of Fort Mill and Nation Ford High students. This group of five high school students has won many awards, including two time defending champions of the Nation Ford High Battle of the Bands, the 2010 Nation Ford talent show and the 2010 Muzak Battle of the Bands.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and see these upcoming musicians and the rest of the wide variety of talent that Fort Mill has to offer. The show is benefiting an important cause to the school and should be a lot of fun as well. And you never know, you could get the first glimpse of the next great, undiscovered talent to come out of Fort Mill High School.
