Many of the kids in Uganda have been victims in a war that has lasted for twenty-three years. Invisible Children helps out the schools in Uganda by holding fundraisers and selling merchandise. There is a benefit concert on Thursday, December 17th from 5:30p.m to 8:00p.m. to raise money for schools in Uganda. It will be held in the Dance room, F-109, and will be featuring many musical students from both FMHS and NFHS.
Some of the students that will be performing are from Nation Ford the members of Soulstice and Atticus Finch Mockingbirds. Representing Fort Mill High which includes Jordan Thompson, Sam Harris, Angela Forte and many more. At this benefit concert, they will be selling drinks, baked goods, t-shirts, and necklaces that were made by widows in Uganda. The concert is completely free, so there is no reason you shouldn’t come out and support this good cause.
“I like being president because it makes me so close to the kids in Uganda, and I love getting to help plan events to support causes like this one,” Sanne stated. Everyone should come out and see your fellow students performing in an amazing concert and buy some merchandise for a good cause.
There will be many other events that Invisible Children will do, so remember to check in at the front office to see what is going on. This is a great way to get involved in something that makes a difference. Just think about all the smiles that will be put on the kids faces.
