Many think that pollution is not an important issue. Some believe that littering does not hurt our earth. But many students from Fort Mill High School beg to differ. A lot of kids at Fort Mill believe that every time we litter, we get one step closer to having a very smelly, harmful earth. Imagine walking outside your house and having to wear a gas mask because you are afraid of harmful toxins getting into your system. That’s what our earth is heading toward. But if we work together and try to put a cease to littering and other harmful pollutions that we can control, we can better assure ourselves that this sort of thing will not happen.

One way of bettering our earth’s atmosphere is by throwing away all our trash. After you finish eating something, throw away all the remains. This will ensure that there will be much less trash on the earth’s surface. But everyone knows that littering is harmful. But what many people don’t know is that some of the everyday items that we use can also be harmful to the environment. (Items such as, automobiles, lawn mowers, and any sort of radiation.) We can limit the harm that these items cause to the decreasing the amount of time that we use them. The less damage we cause, the better.

Austin Earnest, a strong believer in recycling and going green, had a few things to say about this topic. “It really grinds my gears when I see people littering around me. I feel like it limits our time that we are going to spend on earth.” Earnest, who has been recycling for as long as he can remember. His whole family is strong believers about going green and saving our resources. They believe that if we can limit how much of a resource that we use, we can have those resources for much longer. Which is important because pretty soon, we are going to be out of some of the resources that we have relied on for so long, and will have to turn to alternative resources. I believe that it is a good thing that our technology has advanced enough so that we are able to create fully electronic cars. Hopefully, within the next ten years or so all of America will have made the switch to electric instead of using the rest of our resources. Because once the resources are gone they are gone, for good.
