Being in a relationship isn’t always the easiest thing, especially when you’re in high school. There are always rumors being spread and drama getting started. It’s hard for boys and girls having voices in the back of your head telling you things about the person you’re dating. Most teenagers have to deal with hearing white lies going around school about their boyfriend or girlfriend, well imagine dating someone who doesn’t even go to your school.

I date someone who goes to a different school then me and I’ll be the first one to say, it’s not always a piece of cake. I get an occasional text message from someone saying, “oh well I heard that she said, that he said.” You can’t let those things get in the way. Its high school and rumors will always get started. One of the biggest obstacles of this time of our lives is learning to take in the negative things that people say and brush it off your shoulders.

If you are in a relationship with someone the most important thing is trust. I’m not saying that your boyfriend or your girlfriend is always telling the truth but if you are dating someone don’t let stupid rumors get in the way of what you have. Building a strong relationship comes from being able to make it through hard times but don’t let everything you hear start a fight with the person you are going out with. For me it was hard at the beginning of the school year knowing that my boyfriend would be at school everyday with his ex. I would get random phone calls here and there, trying to break us up but what made it easier was knowing I could trust him.

Don’t make yourself miserable being in relationship and constantly having to worry about whether or not your boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating. Another thing don’t make yourself look stupid, if you know this person has a bad reputation with relationships, why put yourself in that position? Like I said before, it’s high school. If you like someone and you can trust them, then that’s all you need. Dating is something that should be fun so don’t let the small stupid things get in the way.
