The VMAs were hosted last Sunday night and the awards weren’t the only things on everyone’s mind. We all remember Lady Gaga’s outfit choice from last year, so of course everyone was anxious too see what Gaga had in store for Sunday night’s show. This year, however, stars decided to give Lady Gaga a little competition. On Sunday night, she wasn’t the only celebrity gracing the white carpet, wearing something unexpected. In fact, many others appeared wearing out of the ordinary outfits, although some still carried on the traditional VMA style.
On Sunday night, viewers saw everything, from short lacy dresses to even raw meat. Some of the most talked about outfits from the show belonged to Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber and of course Lady Gaga. Fashion critics agree that Katy Perry’s black and white lacy dress made the cut for one of the worst dresses of the night. However, I disagree with that considering Lady Gaga showed up in a dress made of raw meat.
Sunday was Ke$ha’s first time ever appearing at the VMAs. However, she has already managed to become one of the hottest topics of the night. She appeared wearing a very short and tight black dress. Ke$ha claims her dress was made out of a trash bag she bought from Home Depot. To top her outfit off, Ke$ha braided her long blonde hair and wore a bump it to finish everything off. Judging by this outfit, it looks as though we may have another Lady Gaga on our hands.
When it comes to Lady Gaga’s sense of style, we never know what to expect. During Sunday night’s award show, Gaga not only surprised us with just one extreme outfit, but with three. Gaga started out the night in the same dress gold, red and green she wore last month in her photo shot for Vanity Fair. Her next outfit was a very large black dress, with a cone like bra structure along with a plastic Mohawk headband. Gaga decided to end the night with something unforgettable, a meat dress. She sported a dress that was made entirely of raw meat, and as if that wasn’t enough she also had a matching purse and wedges. To top everything off, Gaga even had a meat slab that she wore on her head.
In my opinion, I think it’s time for Lady Gaga to take it down a notch with the overdramatic outfits and let others have a chance to show off their trendy outfits as well. Considering how the VMAs were ranked the third most watched show on television, I personally think that Gaga is not the only one who should reconsider her wardrobe. To me, all celebrities should take the time to consider more appropriate outfit choices.
